Embracing Nature in Every Thread

"Memeluk Alam" or "Embracing Nature" is more than a title; it's our manifesto. In the fast-paced world of digital consumption, we choose to look back at the roots—the soil, the bark, and the fallen leaf.

Our latest collection celebrates the symbiotic relationship between the artisan and the ecosystem of South Sumatra. It is a slow, rhythmic process that yields garments with a soul, carrying the whisper of the trees they came from.

Technique

The Alchemy of Ecoprint

Using only steam, pressure, and time, we transfer the pigments of the Daun Ketapang (Indian Almond leaf) directly onto silk and linen.

Daun Ketapang

Gathered from the wild coastal trees of Sumatra, these leaves provide a range of colors from soft ochre to deep, obsidian blacks.

The Steaming

The rolls are steamed for hours, a meditative stage where heat unlocks the leaf's hidden chemistry, etching nature's signature onto the fiber.

The Revelation

Unrolling the fabric is a ritual. Each piece is unique, a singular capture of a moment in time that can never be replicated by a machine.

The Hands Behind the Craft

In the quiet outskirts of Palembang, our collective of 12 master artisans preserves techniques that have been passed through generations. By combining traditional textile knowledge with modern ecological standards, we provide sustainable livelihoods while keeping history alive.

"The leaf tells us when it is ready to give its color. We do not rush nature; we wait for its permission."

The Slow Fashion Philosophy

Rejecting the disposable, embracing the enduring. Every PATERA piece is designed to age with grace.

Zero Waste Circle

Every scrap of fabric is repurposed, and every used leaf returns to the earth as compost for our botanical garden. We close the loop of creation.

Heritage Design

Silhouettes that transcend seasonal trends, inspired by traditional Indonesian garments and refined for modern global living.
